Code of Conduct
Expectations for all Members, Attendees, Speakers, and Sponsors
Triangle UXPA builds and supports the local Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill community of practitioners who focus on crafting great user experiences. We share knowledge and help increase the awareness and value of UX as a discipline.
To promote a cooperative, collaborative culture, and the strongest, most knowledgeable group of user experience professionals possible, Triangle UXPA supports and encourages diversity of all kinds from our members. Open dialogue is encouraged and all perspectives are appreciated. Our group is a safe space for all practitioners and anyone interested in learning more about user experience.
To this end, we expect all members and participants to treat one another with respect. We do not tolerate harassment or discrimination in any form, at any Triangle UXPA event.
Harassment includes offensive comments about gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, ability or disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, or religion (or lack thereof). Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any event, including: talks, workshops, parties, meetups, online events, and web/social media posts.
If you experience or witness any of these forms of harassment, please inform any of the Triangle UXPA event volunteers or Executive Council members.
Any participant who violates these expectations will be asked to stop. Noncompliant participants can be expelled from the event without a refund. Triangle UXPA directors reserve the right to use their own discretion to sanction or expel anyone who violates these expectations.
In some extreme circumstances, the Triangle UXPA Executive Council reserves the right to revoke membership from any member who does not follow the code of conduct. This action requires a two-thirds vote from the Council. The member will be given written notice that includes the reason for the proposed expulsion, an opportunity to contest in writing the proposed action, and written notice of the Council's final decision.
