Prioritizing Usability: A Lesson in Embracing Our Mistakes

Track B (Downstairs), Friday 10:00 am - 10:45 am

How is a company supposed to continue to grow when they are focused on tackling an ever growing usability backlog of their product? When faced with these issues, my team decided to take a step back and completely rethink how we approach the subject overall. Rather than exclusively researching usability after a product release, we decided to reevaluate and take a more proactive approach. To do this, my team and I implemented a combined SUS and UX Lite framework throughout the design and research process and created a baseline usability metric. In my proposed presentation, I will explore the need for companies to rethink usability measurement within their products as well as the benefits of this framework and how it continues to evolve to best satisfy the needs of a growing company.
